Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) • You found all Cultural Insights in Nuna’s Village • 50G • 47.34% of gamers unlocked this

Another Wednesday, and another busy day – so a quick achievement session was in order this morning so as not to bust-my-gut tonight when I get home. I have a couple of sick kids at the moment, one who insists on staying up half the night in tears and needing to be cuddled to sleep, and the other one who loves waking up somewhere between 5am and 6am and coughing in my face to wake me up. I suppose it’s only a matter of time before I get the same bug! With that in mind, I thought it prudent to play a little more Never Alone in order to – for want of a better phrase – insure myself against another rough night.

More importantly, I was overjoyed to find out that I hadn’t broken this blog, and I did successfully do an entry the other day for the Cry Havoc achievement, so all is well in the world. Thankfully, a suggestion to do a ‘promoted post’ on the Achievement a Day Facebook Page led me to find the existing wording (Facebook truncates the original post, which had a starting paragraph different to what I had last night) so I managed to restore that entry, add a note into yesterday’s post where I lamented the loss of momentum on the blog, and then got back to work doing today’s entry.

I’m still not entirely sure what constitutes a ‘Cultural Insight’. I know where to find them, because I watched a couple of them last night before I went to bed, but I assume they’re essentially the Owls that appear throughout the game that unlock small media clips in the main menu which cause these achievements to unlock. I haven’t really delved very deep into the achievements, as the main screen simply has them all locked and I haven’t had the time or inclination to wander over to Xbox or True Achievements, instead – for a change – simply playing the game, probably how it was meant to be played. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that I’ve already given this a solid go on PC.

In other news, the Overwatch League has started its pre-season and I am utterly bummed that there is no Australian teams being represented. Seoul and Shanghai are going to be the closest regional forces competing, but for $20 million, it seems like the Australian market is woefully under-represented. Surely there’s that money to be made back in microtransactions alone – the news that skins of teams would go on sale and the profits would be shared back for the teams excited me today, and it’s this sort of business model that I’d like to work with – but goddamn it’s hard to find $20m in the Australian Venture Capital Market (described as ‘woefully low’). Still, I put the feelers out to contacts that may know someone looking for a business opportunity – and I know if I had $20m to spare, I’d certainly be fronting it for the Overwatch League. As far as ‘sure things’ go … this is pretty much it.
